I posted a little on Instagram about my idea to detox over the next year. Basically, being that I was on heavy duty meds for 8 years, I have known that my body needed a clean out. I have been off meds for 4 years now and during that time I was pregnant, nursing, and taking care with two kids. One who was home with me all day. Now that Little S will be in school, I will have little time to do things I need to do for myself. Plus, I’m finally feeling a calling inside to do so. I have never felt like I was ready to detox. My head wasn’t there, I’ve been enjoying living life with out a disease. Now I feel charged and ready to go.
I’d also like to focus on healing some of the emotional trauma I went through while sick, having Ostomy bag, and during my surgeries. All of those things definitely took a toll on my mental health and some anxiety has sprung up after the fact.
You all seemed interested in what I am doing, so I wanted to share here with you.
Right now I am easing into detoxing. A friend will help me when I am ready to get deeper.
Lots of fruit!
Raw until dinner or mostly raw
Dinner will be whole food plant based. Things like vegetable soups, quinoa, high in vegetable dishes, beans and other gluten free grains but not daily.
Smoothies made up of mostly fruit
Movement: (aiming for an hour of structured exercise 4 days a week, 30 min for 2 days and a break one day).
Walking/running on the treadmill
Yoga one or two days a week
Body brushing every other day
Sauna (hoping to buy a pop up one soon)
Meditation as often as possible
Spending time relaxing in the salt water jacuzzi
Taking time alone for myself
Spending time connecting to nature
Writing gratitude lists daily
I’m not sure how long I’ll do phase one for. I’m going to see how it goes. More soon! I’ll share some meals and what I’m eating every other week! Xo
