Summer of Fun Comes to An End! #WhompWhomp

September 2, 2014

Hey Everyone! This past (LONG) weekend was the unofficial end of Summer, so that means, Summer Of Fun is coming to an end.  As much as I love the Fall, I am sad to see Summer go. My Summer went so fast because of my surgery at the end of June that led to a month long recovery, BUT, we will make the best of Fall and have many "Autumn Adventures". My daughter starts preschool this week, so it's all a little bittersweet for me. But anyway, now for the final post of "Summer of Fun"..

On Friday, Little A and I headed out for some errands and our weekly grocery trip, we brought snacks! Just Pure Foods Zucchini Chips (THESE ARE AMAZING!!!) and some fresh squeezed orange juice that I found at Trader Joes (unpasteurized).

When we got to Whole Foods we were excited to see Senator Cory Booker! I couldn't resist asking for a picture. He happily took my phone and snapped a "selifie" with us. Totally cool!

On Saturday, we headed to the shore for one last fling with the beach.

I am really going to miss the beach...

I brought a delicious smoothie to have for lunch (and look at the beautiful shell I found):  bananas, blueberries, Oceans Alive, Zeolite, Sunwarrior Vanilla Warrior Blend and Reishi.

On Sunday, we started to paint our den a new color. We chose a light pale yellow and it came out really pretty. We took a little break to get lunch. I had fresh pressed watermelon "lemonade" and rice paper vegetable rolls.

When I came home I made a tonic:  cordyceps, Cocoa Mojo Powder, Coconut Oil, Dandy Blend, Medicinal Flower Caramel Drops, Vanilla Stevia.

After a long day of painting, and not to mention my daughter and I getting stuck in a rain storm at the park, we decided to order out for dinner. We rarely order take out, so this was a nice treat. We had a Greek salad (hold the feta), Fooul (chickpeas and fava beans in garlic and olive oil), hummus and FALAFEL!!! Falafel is my weakness! I really rarely indulge in it, so this was very special! :)

On Monday, my Hubby was home from work for Labor Day so we took a little ride to Cost Plus World Market to check it out. I left with this adorable giraffe mug, new kitchen placemats and a new spoon rest. I really wanted EVERYTHING, but I contained myself!

For lunch I whipped up a smoothie bowl: bananas, Mucuna, Zeolite, Astragulas and water topped with Jarrah bee pollen, dried mulberries, and a drizzle of Jem Organics red maca almond butter.

Dinner was another indulgence (I am sure everything is thinking this is in no way "indulgent", buuuutttt, I am detoxing my body from years of meds, so I usually eat a mostly raw dinner. Since it was Labor Day, we had to grill! I "womaned" the grill and made grilled zucchini, eggplant and potatoes, vegan baked beans and a soy free, gluten free, vegan veggie burger (Dr. Cantone's Best was the brand) on a gluten free English Muffin with avocado, kraut, mustard and Bubbies pickles.

And finally, we took an after dinner stroll while Little A rode her bike to round off our Summer of Fun. I hope you all enjoyed seeing what we have been up to this Summer. I am sure I will start our "Autumn Adventures" series soon so stay tuned! XO
