Fun Halloween Activities! Plus 2 Recipes!

October 23, 2015

With Halloween almost a week away, I thought I'd share some fun activities to do with kids (or friends)!

Carve a pumpkin. There are some awesome print outs for making a bad ass pumpkin. Last year we did an Elsa stencil, Little A loved it!

Roast the pumpkin seeds (drizzle coconut oil, cumin, sea salt, garlic powder, yum!). Or follow my recipe!

Paint a pumpkin. Add glitter. Knock your socks off! They even make pumpkin "tattoos" now. This was the route we went this year.

Make yummy plantbased treats! I was asked to make a treat for Little A's school Halloween party, while normally I would bring in fruit, they requested rice crispy treats. So Little A and I made it a project together and made them vegan, organic and healthy-ish.

Go on a hay ride!

Walk through a corn maze. Most places that have pumpkin picking have this along with hay rides.

Walk through a haunted house (Little A would be too afraid, but great for older kids and adults!).

Make Jack-o-lantern stuffed peppers. I made these last year as well. You just carve out eyes and a mouth on a pepper before cooking. Stuff with whatever you desire and bake until soft.

Sip on an awesome pumpkin spice drink or smoothie.

Pumpkin Spice Latte
(Plantbased, vegan, kid friendly)

1 tbsp of Dandy Blend
1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
1 tsp coconut oil
Vanilla stevia to taste
Coconut Milk (as much or little as you like in your "coffee")

Pour hot water over all ingredients except coconut milk. Stir and add to blender along with coconut milk. Blend up until frothy!

Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
(Plantbased, vegan, high raw, kid friendly)

2 bananas
1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
Autumn Spice tea cooled overnight
1 cup Coconut Milk
1/2 cup canned organic pumpkin

Add all ingredients to blender and blend! Enjoy with coconut flakes on top and another sprinkle of pumpkin spice!

Happy Halloween!
