Being a Mom is hard work. I honestly don't think we get the credit we deserve but that being said, I love every second of it. Being a Mom is the best job I've ever had. There are many tough times, ups and down, tantrums, emotions, etc but it is all worth it to me. I try to cherish every minute because time has gone very fast in just 5 (almost 6) years. If it were up to me (and I had the funds, youth and a little more help), I'd have a few more children.. But two is good for now. ;)
Now that I got that out of the way, let's go back to the hard work part. I have given a lot of myself to being a Mom. I don't do many of the things I use to and I don't mind, but I do feel like maybe it's time to get back to some of my old practices. Now that Baby S is over a year old and Little A will be starting kindergarten, it's time for me to work more on me. After all, my cup has to be full in order to be able to fill their cup.
Here are some things I am planning on doing in order to fill my cup..
Yoga at night before bed. Even if I just do a few stretches.
Meditate when possible. Before bed or while Baby S naps.
Journal. Again, when Baby S naps or before bed.
Make time for me. Manicure/pedicure, massage, facial. Find groupons and do it!
Listen to music I like. In the car or when cooking.
Dance. With Little A and Baby S, as often as possible.
Cuddle. Every morning of every day (as we always do).
Use essential oils more. I have two diffusers I need to use more often. I'd love to get one for my car too since I'm in there a lot.
Read more. I'd like to read more spiritual books and self help stuff. This will help me work on myself and be a better being.
Speak. I want to talk more, be more open to those around me about how I feel.
Spend more time in nature. I need nature as therapy. I would like to go on hikes, walks or just spend more time outside.
Rebound. I do this already but definitely not as often as I should and like to.
More date nights with T. I seriously think we haven't been on one since Baby S was born.. Over a year ago! EEK!
Hopefully I will be able to get into these practices again soon! What do you do to fill your cup? XO
