Hi all! I hope you had a nice weekend! We were lucky enough to attend the first NJ VegFest on Sunday! We attend the NYC one yearly, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out my home state was holding their very own! The event was held at the Morristown Hyatt hotel and featured speakers including Dr. Joel Fuhrman! We didn't see anyone speak (had the girls with us) but we did our fair share of eating!
Lots of goodies make for a happy lady!
Banana Whips with chocolate chips make for a happy girlie!
One of our first stops was our local gem, Fresh Press Juice Co. It was nice to see some familiar faces before battling the crowd! Baby S had a photo op with her friend Devon who co owns Fresh Press Juice Co.
We sampled a few different things, I didn't get pics of everything but this granola from HiFi Bar was super yummy! Did I mention everything was vegan? So nice and relaxing knowing you can eat just about everything! Little A enjoyed sampling juices, hummus, granola and left with many stickers and a few new pins! What can I say, she loves a freebie!
I couldn't wait to have my favorite, Yeah Dawg! I have gotten their vegan, gluten free, soy free veggie dogs a few times now and they are always such a delicious treat. The owner is super nice too! I wish they would make their way into stores in NJ! But for now, I left with a package and their "Kali Kush Dawg" which was topped with avocado, kale salad, coconut bacon on a brown rice wrap.
We were there pretty early so there weren't any lines. But the place was super packed! So great to see so many people coming out to support vegan food, companies and causes!
T's favorite was Mindful Kitchens food. Unfortunately, these were all glutened so I didn't partake. Man, I would of loved to try!
These were the wraps T got made with their pepperoni, salami, a "honey" mustard sauce and lettuce. He said it was so good! He went back to buy their pepperoni because he liked it so much.
There were a few beauty stands along with clothing vendors and even candles!
Little A bought a beaded bracelet that said "NJ VegFest" for a dollar. The dollar went to animal rescue.
Good Karma was another great highlight. This restaurant is near my parents so we have been many times.
T had their special sandwich which he said was also amazing!
We also brought home some sweets from them: a cookie sandwich for Little A, pumpkin blondie for T and a gluten free walnut brownie for me!
Rockin' Raw had some delicious looking raw options.
More gorgeous beauty products. I wish I really got to stop and look more. It was hard to navigate with two kids.
Empanadas which smelled delicious!
Here are the goodies we left with! Including the pepperoni for T, hot sauce, Yeah Dawgs, the Good Karma sweets, body butter and Little A's bracelet.
This was some of the stuff in the goodie bags and some of the stickers and business cards we grabbed.
Overall, it was a successful, yummy day! I can't wait to see what they have in store next year. I've heard they will have a bigger venue which will be great! I would say the only negative of the whole event was how crazy busy it was, but that's not a negative at all because it shows you how many Plantbased people and vegan curious people there are in the area! Yay!
