Weekends: Apple Picking Family Fun

October 23, 2016

Hi! Yesterday our little fam went apple picking. We drove out to Terhune Farms which was about an hour away. I like this farm because they use Integrated Pest Management, which means they use environmentally friendly ways to keep bugs away and only spray if they have to. There aren't any organic apple picking farms in NJ so this is our best bet.

I brought "breakfast" in the car since we left super early. I drank this Rebbl Matchs Latte. I love everything this brand makes.

We basically had the orchard to ourselves. That's the perk of waking up so early. Hehe! I also enjoyed this place much more than some of the others we've visited because they didn't have amusements and all the hoopla. We did that when we went pumpkin picking and we wanted to keep this simple. They do have a more amusement based place as well, but we chose the place with rows of tree and just a stand to pay at.

These two sisters are my favorite of all time.

Reaching the high ones on Daddy's shoulders!

Good thing Daddy is so strong and tall! ;)

Happiest Mommy ever!

All bundled for the chilly early morning weather!

The one time I year I have apple cider is when we go apple picking! Little A and I shared this.

The goods!

On the way home we stopped by a health food store in Princeton. I was so excited to see some new Hilary's flavors along with these other goodies I hadn't tried yet. Lucky for me, everything was almost 50% off!

I also got a falafel platter to go.

When we got home, I tossed in all in a bowl and added kraut.

After dinner, T made us all a treat with some of our freshly picked apples.. He cooked them with maple syrup, gf oats, pumpkin season, cinnamon and raisins with a scoop of coconut milk vanilla ice cream on the side. Perfection!

Have you been apple picking yet? Do you have organic farms near you? xo
